I am an award winning hypnotherapist, having received the N.C.H. Chairs Award for 2007, a fully qualified counsellor, meridian therapist, supervisor and life coach, in private practice in York. My areas of specialties are health related issues, smoking cessation, stress & pain management (with suitable referrals) IBS, etc.
Having had an interest in complementary therapies for many years, I did a course on NLP in 1989, and continued with Kinesiology in 1990, when I was lucky enough to train with John Thie (the founder of kinesiology) when he visited
the UK.
I studied Stress Management in 1991, and my first counselling course in 1993, where I attended York Further & Higher Education, following on with Crisis Counselling, Marriage & Family Counselling, and Counselling Diploma.
I got my Diploma in Hypnotherapy in 1995, and became a member of the NCH. In 1997 I trained in Dental Anxiety Phobia with Michael Yapko, I got NHS, and BUPA Provider Numbers, and in 1998 trained as an IBS therapist and joined the UK Register of IBS Therapists.
I was the principal tutor and one of the co-founders of the Northern School of Clinical Hypnosis and in 1999 I got my Certificate as a Clinical Supervisor.
I became an Accredited Hypnotherapy Supervisor in the NCH, and a member of the National Guild of Hypnotists, in 2002 I got my certificate with Kevin Hogan in Mind & Body Therapy Level 1, and my certificate as a Self-Hypnosis trainer with Don Motton.
In 2003 became a Hypnosis Educator with the NCH and a Professional Life Coach with the UK Academy. In 2004 I joined the Brookhouse Hypnotherapy Group.
